Annual Report 2014: AusBiotech "facilitating global development"

Thursday, 09 October, 2014

The AusBiotech Annual Report 2014 is now available, detailing how AusBiotech is delivering on its plan to facilitate global development of the Australian life sciences industry.

The board has revised and firmed up AusBiotech’s strategic imperatives and developed a three-year strategic plan (2013-2016) to guide the organisation’s work. The Annual Report 2014 charts AusBiotech’s progress in implementing the strategic plan, representing member interests and supporting Australia’s biotechnology industry.

The new strategic plan, which was shared with members last year at AusBiotech 2013 in Brisbane, has provided a firm foundation from which to build and it addresses the predicted opportunities and challenges.

AusBiotech is working to ensure continued global engagement in established markets and looking to harness the rising demand and opportunities in Asia. Advocacy is focused on the changing dynamics of the Australian economy and leveraging the opportunities provided by the end of the mining boom and the decline of traditional manufacturing to raise biotechnology’s profile and support it at a policy level. In acknowledging its changing business model, AusBiotech is positioning for long-term growth via its AusEvents division and recognising the importance of its people.

Members are invited to the 2014 AusBiotech Annual General Meeting (AGM), where the annual report will be detailed further, giving an overview of all the activities of the organisation for the period covering the 2013-14 financial year. The AGM will be held at the AusBiotech national conference at the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre on Thursday 30 October 2014 at 7.45 am.

Members are reminded that voting on the 2014 board election closes tomorrow (Friday 10 October 2014).
